“Priya’s teaching methods were simple and effective in helping me with GCSE mathematics. Her tutoring greatly increased my confidence and improved my grade significantly, as I had been struggling with maths. She gave a reasonable amount of homework, which was beneficial as you get more practice done, making you more prepared for the upcoming exam. All concepts were explained in detail with quick and easy methods. She would also go over it again if you told her you didn’t understand something. However, you also had to put in work outside of tuition hours to stay consistent. Priya’s work also focused heavily on harder level questions, e.g. grade 8 and 9 questions. This was essential as they were the ones with the most marks, useful in order to achieve top grades. The questions practised in class were really similar to some actual GCSE style questions in the real exam. I was able to solve multi-step and worded problems with more ease at school. A test is also conducted after learning a couple of topics, helping consolidate the information learnt. The tests usually contain a mixture of simple and complex questions, sure to really challenge you. Overall, I am very satisfied with her level and quality of teaching and would therefore highly recommend her.”

She knows the syllabus inside out, so the lessons were always well-structured and the concepts explained through a variety of methods instead of just reading from a textbook. In addition, she went through past papers with the class, which was extremely useful for me in improving exam technique, especially as most mark schemes only give you the answer instead of the method and understanding behind the question. “When I started, I was just a normal Year 4 boy who was going to attend a tutor, but Priya pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me discover talent I never knew I had. In Maths, I was scared of algebra, but Priya helped me learn it like it was basic addition, partly because of her fun actions for things like the area of a triangle. For our homework, she would make whole one-hour videos to cover the weekly maths homework. In English, my punctuation was already good but she boosted my comprehension over the roof (I scored 100% in my 11+ English!). In Reasoning, my Verbal was alright and she made it perfect by thoroughly teaching every single type in Verbal Reasoning (15 to 20 types); my Non-Verbal Reasoning was my weak spot, but again she covered all the many categories within the subject and made it spot on.
